After over a year of closures due to staffing and the pandemic, Hungerford Youth & Community Centre are relaunching their Youth Clubs and sessions for young people from the community of Hungerford and adjoining areas.

We are currently looking to recruit a bank of volunteers who may have a couple of hours a week that they would like to spend assisting us at the clubs – or join our bank of volunteers we can call on when needed.

All volunteers must be over 16 years old and enjoy working with young people. Whether you have no experience or have volunteered in the past, we welcome applications from anyone who is enthusiastic about the role.

We would particularly welcome anyone who has skills they are keen to pass on and enhance the lives of our young people, eg. craft, cooking, music, sports coaching etc. But as much as anything, volunteers must have a warm smile and be approachable to all.

All our Youth Club volunteers will receive an induction to the club, a tour of the building and a run through of some basic information on their first night, covering issues like safeguarding etc. Chris, our Youth Support Worker, will be present at all sessions to guide and assist. Volunteers will also be required to complete a DBS Check.

If you feel you do not have a particular interest but still want to help with providing youth provision at Youth Club, we would still welcome interest from volunteers who can help with whatever is necessary, whether it be helping with the kitchen, admissions, crafts, music, running the tuck shop; we have plenty going on that you could help out with!

Volunteering is good for the health, and good for your CV! Volunteer certificates will be issued we will be happy to provide references.

If you are interested in any of the above volunteering opportunities, or if you’d like to find out more, then please get in touch with Hungerford Youth & Community Centre by calling Youth Support Worker:

We look forward to hearing from you!
