Rachael is our newest Trustee and will be focused on safeguarding at the centre. Rachael is delighted to support young people in Hungerford and sharing her professional expertise in this field.

Charlie has been involved with the Youth Centre since September 2011, originally through volunteering for the toddler group Ladybugs. As she learnt more about the Youth Centre and its activities, she fell in love with all the good work which happens here and the possibilities the Centre holds. Charlie’s enthusiasm for community projects is relentless, with a special emphasis on those benefitting young people.
Derek Alford
Town Council representative
Derek was a full-time youth worker, in his younger years he went to the YMCA Nation College in London and gained a Certificate in Youth and Community Work. In 1981 he was Deputy Warden at the Docklands Youth Centre in Hainault in Essex, on the outskirts of London. Then In 1984 he became the Youth Worker at Kings Way Youth Centre in Bristol. He ran the Youth Centre until 1987. He has volunteered for youth groups like the Duke of Edinburgh scheme throughout his adult life. Now that he is retired, he enjoys volunteering for the Youth Centre and is keen to support activities and projects for young people in Hungerford and the surrounding areas. He is also a Councilor for Hungerford.
Jude Hodge
Treasurer
Jude has lived in Hungerford for over 10 years, and during this time has volunteered for many local children groups and charities, including Ladybugs Toddler group, Playgroup, Hungerford Primary School PTA, Brownies and Guides. As a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor, Jude enjoys helping support local community groups using her finance skills, mainly in a Treasurer role. She is however also keen to volunteer to make a difference to the community and specifically local youth services, so they can continue to operate and thrive, as they all contribute to make Hungerford a great place to live. As well as supporting groups as Treasurer, Jude enjoys spending time exploring the local countryside as part of a local walking group.
